Meet Megan!

 

Hometown: Lincoln, NE

 

Tell us something about yourself:  

In my free time I enjoy snowboarding, longboarding, riding my motorcycle, and traveling to old and new places! 

 

What was your best home-care moment with a client?:

It's hard to choose just one! Being able to take my client out and do different activities together fills both of our souls with joy. I have taken her to get coffee and bagels, to feed the giraffes at the Lincoln Zoo, to see all the Christmas lights at Zoo Lights, enjoying the fresh air and beautiful fall colors at Pioneers Park, looking at all the gorgeous flowers at the Sunken Gardens, and our favorite go to - sitting on the bench together at Holmes Lake soaking up the sunset.

 

If you are a student, where and what are you studying?:

I graduated in May 2015 with my B.S. in Elementary Education from Union College (Lincoln, NE). I now work at Union College as the Academic Operations Specialist for Union College Online as well as a Caregiver for Home Care Partners of Nebraska.

Why do you like being a caregiver?:

It brings me such joy to help others and be there for them when maybe they don't have anyone else. I love getting to know my clients and learning about them and the life they live. I always want to be there for them and see what I can do to make their day just a little happier.
